why will it work for me?

How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture stimulates nerve-endings and cellular responses. These impulses convey messages to the brain and nervous system which adjust or enhance certain functions. Endorphins and other hormones are released to eliminate pain, blood circulation is activated, structures become unblocked and normal functions are restored. Just as our bodies repair after injury, acupuncture stimulates and accelerates the self-healing process.

Why will it work for me?
Regardless of whatever label is given to an illness, Traditional Chinese Medicine’s most defining factor is in treating the person instead of the disease. The holistic approach of TCM investigates and resolves the root cause of disorder whilst looking at the big picture. The aim is to restore and correct the body’s natural workings rather than the singular approach of applying quick-fix generalised treatments to symptoms alone.

Get acupuncture from an acupuncturist!
‘Acupuncturist’ is now a protected title. An allied health professional such as a physiotherapist may claim to do acupuncture or ‘dry needling’ but is only required to do 150hours of unsupervised practice, a general practitioner only 30hours. This is when acupuncture becomes dangerous, painful and less successful. An Acupuncturist qualifies after 4 years and 3000 hours practice.
